Except theft.  Have you ever worked as a cashier?  They make sure to very clearly tell us what is and isn't theft, what happens with shortages and overages, and just about everything to do with the till.

CrAz3D

If he didnt take it without consent how is it theft?

rabbit

What?

It wasn't the cashier's money, it was the store's.  Money is traded for a deemed equivalent in product.  If he got extra money without giving anything to the store, he has taken money from the store that was not his to take.  IT WAS STEALING.  Please do not try to argue with me on this.  You will only fail.

CrAz3D

But the cashier gave it to him on behalf (mistakenly or not) of WalMart.  She was an agent with authority to give change but she made a mistake.  It isnt stealing

OK so i am school school shopping right. no big deal i go to check out and junk and the total come out to $119 so i give the cashier 2  50 dollar bills and a 20. so then she does all the register stuff and she gives me $50 in change and i am like WTF. but i don't say anything and i just leave. i look at the paper she handed me and it says i paid 170. so i was just wondering if i should have said something... this was at a walmart btw
Might want to take it back. They'll probably know who fucked up and be very happy to see it back.

Or he could just not worry about it because at the end of the day even $50 isn't that big a deal. If its the girls first offense and shes been there awhile I see it as unlikely that she'll get in that much trouble. Besides, these kinds of losses are built into the system and its not really the customers job to minimize them. If you look at casinos you'll see that when handling the money really matters and making sure every cent ends up where it belongs that they're willing to pay more and hire decent(non-high school) employees.

If you feel bad, give the money back, else, don't worry about it.

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

Remember the part where I said not to bother trying to fight me on this cause you have no idea what you're talking about?  Yeah.  You have no idea what you're talking about.

You were given $50 more than you were owed, and you're complaining and wondering if you should take it back? It's called a good day my friend. That cashier got owned, straight up, probably on probation now. But who gives a fuck, you're $50 richer.
It is good to be good, but it is better to be lucky.
