I'll be in Hawaii over Christmas. I asked my parents if we could stop in California for a day or so and they said it'd be considered.

So, to bring up the idea again -- x86 lan party?

You might be right about that, Joe.

Dunno.  This just happens to have the potential for working out for me.  It's not supposed to be a reunion or anything; it's just possible I'll be in the area and it'd be cool to see some of the people from here.

I have a bunch of family in CA near Corona, so I might be out there sometime too.  I think Ergot and Quik live near there?

rabbit

I have no beef with you.  It's Joe being a douchetard I have a beef with.

I've met friends from the Internet before, it's generally a lot of fun.

In fact, I currently work with somebody I met on the Internet. How's that for weird? :)

My folks' health insurance company is trying to be reimbursed for medical expenses they paid out in relation to my jeep accident in 2004.  I'm ticked for the following reasons:

1) Everything was finished 3.5 years ago!  WTF are they calling now!?
2) They sent a letter to my parents, not my lawyer.  I called the ins. co. (Blue Cross Blue Shield) and told them the phone number and mailing address.  They've mailed him the same letter my parents received and this morning I got a call (at the office, I work for the lawyer) saying they want to negotiate reimbursement.
3) A letter dated Nov 12, 04 says "We view this claim as non-recoverable.  If the amount of coverage changes or circumstances of coverage change please contact us.  BCBS has elected not to seek reimbursement."  Coverage never changed.

Stupid insurance companies.  What sucks is that I'm about 99.9% that this sort of thing happens to everyone.  The bad part is that some people end up not having documentation/a lawyer/etc. and end up with a $60k lien on their home ($60k is the amount of my med expenses).
I can understand them wanting reimbursement and trying to collect the first time around, but after saying the claim is non-recoverable and coming back 4 years later I'm a little unnerved.
