It was OK, but I feel for a movie having the biggest budger in history it could be better.

I didn't like the ending either, mainly because it never explained why they lost their shields.

I also did not like that kid (Robbie, I think) at all, he was annoying, stubborn, and obviously a Democrat. He remined me of those idiotic protesters that protest against Bush in the Protest Warrior videos.

I thought that basement guy was going to molest the girl, or kill them, or something. He was a weirdo.

On the other hand, this movie had me guessing some....I wasn't totally sure if this movie would have an "American happy ending" like nearly all other movies. I thought the boy had died, and was preparing for at least Tom Cruise to die too. I didn't think he would, since he's Tom Cruise, but he almost did.

In the arcade part of the theater, before the movie, this old guy (I think he was retarded or something), was playing a Turkey Hunting game. He kept aiming the gun at me and pretending he was shooting. What a freak.

I got a free "emergency ticket" to any Ritz theater cause there were 2 guys being assholes the whole movie :)

I wanted Robbie to die.  And he was obviously a cross between Republican and Democrat ("I wanna go kill them", ".....*tear**hug*")  He was such a putz...

My ideal movie is where the bad guy ends.  Every movie in like...the past 2847389 years has been "O SHIT WE FOUND SOME SORT OF LOOPHOLE AND KILLED THEM ALL IN THE LAST SECOND!!"  It would have been better if the aliens killed the men, raped the women, and sprayed the children's insides across the planet, then the credits rolled.  That woulda been awesome.

The movie wasn't bad, but it finished on a horrible note. I cry for humanity if all movies end with the good guys winning.

Is it me, or did the ending (where they shot rockets into the giant robot) remind me of the setting in Half-Life 2? The sunny city, which is all ruined, etc.?

I imagined it'd suck, which is why I turned down all past offers to go see it, and guess what? Everyone hated it around here.

I prefer the book, it's much better.

i found the ending quite clear - but then again, i guess im the type that when a whole group of advanced aliens die from something that we are immune to, as said by the narrator., and they zoom in on bacteria in the water and air, i assume that is what killed them.

I remember there was an old 1970's movie similar to War of the Worlds, and that's exactly how the aliens died in the end.
