Personally, I'd recommend a combination of Retribution and Holy.  Initially, I'd pour all of your talents into Retribution, because it makes the easiest soloing build, plus you can do some crazy damage in PvP with it.  No one really expects a Paladin to heal until endgame anyway.  That doesn't mean you shouldn't heal, though!  Paladins who heal rock! :)

By the time you reach 60 and start doing things like MC, I can definitely foresee you switching to more of a Holy/Retribution (instead of more in Retribution) build, since it's generally more useful (Paladins do nothing but buff, heal and remove debuffs in MC).

You bet.

I forgot to mention Protection is good if you plan to do something like off-tanking as a Paladin, but I'm personally completely against that.  Unless the instance is mostly undead mobs, I think Paladins tanking is a bad idea. :)

Hehe, it kind of does.  It's an extremely fun game, especially given the year it was created in.

Heh, I'm better at those types of games than games like WoW, which is why I tend to get bored easily on them.

Pour them all into zeal! Zeal level 20 + lifesteal = gg anything. You don't need healing potions, because if you have, like, 10% life steal, you're gaining more health than your losing.

I know you're talking about WoW, but I feel the need to talk about D2, so I will. G_G. =)

I had a level 92 hammerdan, and I used to PK everything every chance I got on hardcore ladder. :)

I suggest putting all your Talents into Retribution. Becuase For your Frist 55 levels of playing its mostly PvP and tanking in instances. Becuase there isnt any 40 man instances for 55 and below so you will mostly being tanking. You get great crits too if you do your tree right. After that Just Put the rest in holy in your flash heal becuase thats what you will be using mostly in MC that and buffing.
