or they just sniff out any cd, and check them....

I'm almost certain they were both joking...

What, exactly, does a CD smell like?  I've never noticed a distinctive odor when I take it out of the package..

I assume that you've heard a dog's sense of smell is multitudes more sensitive than ours?

While that's true, I don't think CDs have a smell.  They're basically plastic.

Since they said the test was pretty successful, I think it's obvious that they do have a distinguishable smell. :P

So they can smell how many DVDs there are?  Those dogs are impressive!

Um. The smell would be stronger if there was a large magnitude.

They could be bluffing to scare people into stopping the mailing of bootleg DVDs.

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

That's true, but I wouldn't be all too surprised if CD's had a smell detectable by dogs.

But when you burn an ISO file, it's not an ISO anymore. ;)
