One of the first PC's my family owned was a Compaq.  It was terrible.  I've since had extremely biast oppinions against any computer they make, even after they were bought out by Hewlett-Packard.

That exactly what happened with my family's first computer, and it's exactly how I feel about Compaq.

I AM NOT BIGAZNDADDY. -_-

Haha, just kidding. ;)

errr... something like that...

Gateway laptops are garbage, I've had nothing but bad experiences with them, but their desktops are alright.  I'd like to buy all my own stuff and make one, as opposed to buying stock with upgrades, but I just don't have the money :\

We've only had two Gateway laptops come through that I can think of at the moment, but they both seemed pretty nice.  I only used them to do the base OS install, which, of course, isn't a very good representation of their reliability.

I'm still waiting to hear your reasoning. ;)

My dad's Gateway has (so far) needed the battery replaced twice, the charger replaced, the screen-clips replace, and the screen hinges fixed.  It is less than a year old.

My ex's Gateway needed the battery replaced, the DVD drive fixed, the screen hinges fixed, and the charger replaced.  Also less than a year old.

Both were different models.  Both suck at life.

Nate

HP bought Compaq awhile ago, like 2-3 years.

Wow, that's terrible.  I'd be curious to hear reviews from other customers who own the same model.  I haven't heard any complaints from either of the two teachers using the gateway laptops, but they're used pretty lightly.

I'll bet that's why they replaced the battery on both of them.

When you have a machine that unreliable in such a short amount of time, you begin to wonder if it was worth the price, even given the limited time warranty.

I'm going to poison you with your own fecies.

Haha, just kidding.  I'll cut it out with the strange death threats.  I wouldn't want to transcend a fun, joking attitude.

Or would I? ...

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

Intel Core Solo and Intel Core Duo are basically the Pentium 5 under a nice, confusing name, right?
Quote from: Camel on June 09, 2009, 04:12:23 PMI'd personally do as Joe suggests
