SSH can double as SFTP. Different protocol for the exact same concept.

You might be right about that, Joe.

I know, but you're silly if you think SMF supports that.

Joe

Oh.. the addon itself requires it? Excuse my lack of thought. I was thinking you meant to install it. :p

Well, the installation procedure requires it.  It would require a lot more work to do it without SMF's addon features, so until iago sets up a FTP server, I doubt it's gonna happen.

I assure you that I have no intention of setting up an FTP server, so... :P

Pffft, if iago could cp the files over... it'd be all good!
And like a fool I believed myself, and thought I was somebody else...

It uses it to reset file permissions.  Most of the readmes for addons don't document what you're supposed to reset, so it makes it kind of difficult... :(

I can always try again.  Maybe I'lld o that tomorrow. :D

Huh?  I know how to use chmod, but it's much, much easier to install SMF plugins with an FTP server.

or you know..through the admin panel. O.O
One must ask oneself: "do I will trolling to become a universal law?" And then when one realizes "yes, I do will it to be such," one feels completely justified.

Exactly.  I didn't see a way to not use FTP in the admin panel.  If you're aware of a way, feel free to let me know. :)

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

You said you didn't know specifically what permissions the plugin/mod/whatever sets.  Using grep on its files to search for "chmod" will tell you what permissions it changes, and to what.

Oh, right.  haha.
