Where on Earth did you get the impression that we rent a server?  iago hosts it out of his home using a DSL connection.

Yeah, I have it at home.  I do it for many reasons:

- Educational
- Easier to maintain
- Easier to update
- Cheaper in the longrun
- If something happens, I walk to the next room
- Don't have to worry about rules / policies
- Can give limited or unlimited access to whomever I choose
- Has the OS I want, set up the way I like
- More secure (I know what I'm doing)
- Unlimited bandwidth

There are a couple downsides, though:
- Nobody to turn to for help (not applicable, I'm too smart
- Slower net speed (I don't think that's an issue)

Hrm.  I get hosting for $5.50 a month (paid annually), but incidentally, would renting a server be pretty much the same as buying hosting on a monthly basis?

I think the difference is in whether or not you get your "own" server (or if it's shared with others).  That what it seems to me, anyways.

Shaw tried to make my parents buy a bunch of extra stuff, so she told them where to shove it.  Well, in a nice way. 

I think I have "MTS Lightening", whatever level that is.  Whatever I have, it seems to work fine so I'm not planning on changing it. 

And incidentally, which part of the city do you live in?
