I recommend ClamWin (www.clamwin.com) but have heard good things about AVG / Avast!

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

Anything from Symantec sucks!  I bet everyone here agrees!

Haha, just kidding.  I actually really like Symantec AV (not the same as Norton AV).  It does exactly what I want it to: not bug me.

I really liked AVG (for the same reason I like Symantec) until whatever method they use for updating it exploded.  My friend's install did the same thing.  I assume it was something on their end, so it could be fixed now, but I'm less partial to it now because of that.

http://www.pandasecurity.com/cj-usa/dev/2/ Panda is suppose to be really good, But never tried it.

My high school used the enterprise version.  It was an enormous pain in the ass.  I'd say it's pretty comparable to Norton and McAfee..

I lose all respect for a product when their website has a banner like that. It makes me think that they're desperate.

Avast seems to work fine. Thanks guys

The best way to protect yourself is through common sense and following good security practices.

Don't run untrusted programs in an environment where they can do damage (i.e. your user account or an administrative account).  In fact, unless you have a very good reason to run an untrusted programs, you shouldn't, period.

Keep your operating system and any programs you used up to date with patches, don't enable unnecessary services, and firewall off things that don't need to be accessed remotely.

The mildly attractive woman lovingly embracing the product, I would guess.

Fuck you deadly, I was going to say CondomWall. <3. I love how he said "protection", it was just kinda funny. :P

Anyhow, I use AVG. I used ClamWin for a long time but it doesn't have resident protection.

I noticed this too, I fixed it by opening the Control Center, selecting Update Manager and clicking the Properties button.  There is an option in the new window to "Update Immediately" and "Complete at next computer restart"

Once I selected both of those, it hasn't bothered me again.
