I use to watch this series and had no clue about the Religious overtones that are showed throughout the series. This probably dosent really apply to any of you besides rabbit since he watches Anime. But if you could click that link and read I think it be quite interesting and worth your time.

Anyway, this is like, the reverse Bible. The movie is kind of like the Rapture (if the Rapture involves everyone popping and turning into orange goo).

I believe that would be "the rupture", not "the rapture".

Well Indirectly because they never actually mention Christianity at all. Just overtones that are pretty simple to spot.
