So I flipped a coin...

Not going.

BigAznDaddy

thats too bad...

Ender

I'm actually relieved that I don't have to waste $100.

BigAznDaddy

there has to be someone that wants to go with you?

AntiVirus

My girlfriend at the time and I went to prom and it was a blast!  You should try to find someone to go with and go!  It's fun!
The once grove of splendor,
Aforetime crowned by lilac and lily,
Lay now forevermore slender;
And all winds that liven
Silhouette a lone existence;
A leafless oak grasping at eternity.

My girlfriend and I went and it sucked. We bailed out as early as we could with some friends. YMMV.

Mine was extremely boring. And we weren't allowed to bail early, and had to be driven home to parents (and get our parents' signature) even if we weren't drinking.

Wow.  I would have just hung out with my date at taco bell until the after parties started.

I don't think I can buy tickets anymore. And if I could, they cost $60. FTW. And then I need to get a tux. FTW. I don't see what's so big about prom. Seems like some hoax for fundraising.

If I want to take advantage of my last opportunity to have any dating experience in high school -- it's sad, I know --    then I'd rather just sit on a rocking chair hugging a girl on my lap and watching a good movie with popcorn and birds in the background for a good 3 hrs -.-

I skipped my senior yr cause my junior yr was lame (although, my knee was broken junior year so I just sorta sat/hobbled around).
I couldnt see the point in spending $200+ for tux, tickets, dinner with a girl that is a friend.

I went both years and disliked it both years.  I took my date Junior year as a courteous gesture to my other friends (she was friends with them and was a Sophomore, so she wasn't allowed in without an "invite" from an upperclassmen).  She was nice and I didn't mind her, but she definitely wasn't my type.  My senior year, one of my friends from a couple of my classes asked me.  It went well, but I still really dislike the whole idea of a dance.

I was adamantly against underage drinking through high school, so it made social gatherings that involved (more accurately revolved around) alcohol more difficult for me.  I didn't much mind my friends drinking, but I felt uncomfortable being around it.  I've since decided that this attitude is pretty silly.  I don't mind underage drinking, but I still do not wish to participate.

Overrated, expensive dances.

If I want to dance with my girlfriend I have Windows Media Player and Ventrillo.
One must ask oneself: "do I will trolling to become a universal law?" And then when one realizes "yes, I do will it to be such," one feels completely justified.

I'm not going to mine either, and I feel like a loser because of it. At first I had a good excuse because we had a lacrosse tournament the next day and I didn't want to be out late, but now we aren't going and I have no excuse besides me not having a date. I don't want to spend money to go to a dance alone, and I don't want to go to prom with a girl I'm not involved with or could be involved with. I'll try and go to the after parties though.
