to be honest applications in OSX freeze up on me a lot. I don't really like it.

Quit better.
And like a fool I believed myself, and thought I was somebody else...

i unquit...just until i finish up what I have  lol

so i go over my buddys house for a cookout, just a few people over...no drinking or anything. we eat, hang out, take his boat over to watch the fireworks (Which were postponed until tomorrow because of weather... >:( ) about 11pm this girl i work with calls me telling me to come to this party. well it's kind of late to start drinking when everyone theres wasted already, plus I have to drive so even though i want to go i decide not to. she tells me if i come pick her up we can go "hang out at her house or somethin :)" I'm pretty certain I know what that smiley face means, and she's attractive enough to smiley face with but there's another girl at work who I think I might actually like so I don't know what to do.

this is how i get myself in trouble (actually this same kind of predicament is how I went from about-to-date a girl to girl-stopped-talking-to-me)

apparently someone took her home so I guess I waited too long on that one, she wants me to go to this party tomorrow which I'll probably go to but now if shes trying to hook up idk because i would definitely do it if drunk and the other girl i work with will probably be there and that will ruin my chance with her. (done this before too, hooked up with a sure-thing (ex-gf) and her friend who I liked (but wasn't a slut so wasn't hook-up potential) was put off by that....no more chance)

life sucks.

Hmm, I assumed he meant the forum. Hard to say!

Haha, I took it to mean his exposition here. But you're absolutely right, your way sounds much more likely. :)

UC Davis has shell accounts. Woohoo!

What's cool is that their shells provide an: e-mail client, IRC client, and I can set up a SSH proxy with ssh -D as AllowSSHForwarding is not False apparently. (Check the IP!) :D

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

Are there schools that DON'T do that? At both universities I went to, it was the same deal.

Yep, I'm pretty sure most do.  All of the computer science machines can be individually accessed externally at CSU.

I figured they'd give me a shell at some point, but I figured I'd have to be a CS student.

And I didn't think they'd ever include an IRC client OR keep it on the outside network (so I can set up ssh tunnels with ssh -D) since it seems like both are security risks.

Although it's SunOS... so who cares to honestly exploit it? :P

haha.  I think there are a few Solaris boxes that we run, but I don't use them.  One is the web server, I believe.

I don't know about IRC, but I can do the tunneling at school too.  It came in handy quite a few times when the residential network packet shaper was behaving poorly. :)
