Slackware kernel update
« on: November 05, 2005, 03:36:22 pm »
Which packages do I get to upgrade to 2.4.31 ? I don't see a kernel-generic :/

And yes, male both ends.  There are a couple lesbians that need a two-ended dildo...My router just refuses to wear a strap-on.

It's there a package in group a for it?  I forget what it's called, though..

Aha:
ncftp> pwd
  ftp://ftp.slackware.com/pub/slackware/slackware-current/slackware/a/
ncftp> ls kernel*
kernel-ide-2.4.31-i486-1.tgz           kernel-modules-2.4.31-i486-1.tgz
kernel-ide-2.4.31-i486-1.tgz.asc       kernel-modules-2.4.31-i486-1.tgz.asc
kernel-ide-2.4.31-i486-1.txt           kernel-modules-2.4.31-i486-1.txt
ncftp ...re-current/slackware/a >

The next question is; why?

I think kernel-generic and kernel-ide provide the same function.  Untar them and see, if you want (tar -tvvzf)

Beats me.  Search the folders for headers?

*shrug* I'm not really sure.

You could probably set up a little script to search for .tgz files containing the correct files.
