Hats off to Intel for the beautiful and creative new name for their new line of processors: Core 2 Duo.

Other than the name, wasn't this concept publically anounced half a year ago?  Perhaps I'm mistaken.

That's pretty funny, though.  I still don't think it's quite as bad as "Windows Vista: Ultimate Edition."

The concept was probably announced like, two years ago.  It's just moreso the last year/half-year they've been doing something about multi-cores and multiple-processors.  The name was what I was getting at.. shh. :(

No, I mean like it was in production.  I remember watching an animation that Intel published after my boss bought a dual core processor.

The worst name chosen ever is the "Wii".

The second-worse name is "Windows Vista".

You realize "Vista" is Spanish for "View" or "Sight," right?

I think it makes WAY better sense than "Windows Me" or "Windows XP."

And WAY more than "Linux."  All that is is a bastardization of "Linus" and "UNIX."  Where's the creativity in that?

Sorry, but I think "Windows Vista" sounds stupid too.  Alas, it will soon become a usual portion of our technical vocabulary. :(

"Windows View" would probably be equally lame.

"Vista" sounds like the name of an Old Folks Home, not an OS.

Read Memory Boy by Will Weever (spelling?).  The old folks' home in that book has Vista right in the title!  lmao
Any name that Microsoft has come up with post-beta (i.e.: '95, '98, ME, etc) has been dumb.  BSD has a badass name.

Berkely Software Distribution?  Doesn't sound very creative to me. :P

I'm pretty sure there's at least one retirement home here containing the word Vista

I'm pretty sure there's a joke there, but I'm missing it.
