Yay!
« on: June 01, 2006, 08:02:31 pm »
I just got my laptop in the mail today!  I love it!

It's an HP Pavilion dv1650.  This is the site for the specs and what not if you are interested:
http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopping/store_access.do?product_code=ET730UA%23ABA&template_type=product_detail&aoid=32835&jumpid=oc_R1002_USENC-001_HP%20Pavilion%20dv1650us%20Notebook%20PC&lang=en&cc=us

I am so excited!! I can't wait to get Linux on here too!

And all winds that liven
Silhouette a lone existence;

I think the college I am going to actually wants us to have SP2.  They sell that on all their laptops.

But, why not SP2?

SP2 = Paranoia USA.

poofycakes = Stupidity USA.
I'd personally do as Joe suggests

You might be right about that, Joe.

SP2 = Paranoia USA.
Perhaps, but since you can turn off the paranoia features and it's required for Visual Studio 2005, I've upgraded.  It's worth it.
I have a programming folder, and I have nothing of value there

It also screws up a bunch of programs.

What? My windows start up has never been faster since I upgraded to SP2. None of my software runs slower or faster because of it.

Additionally, I know Counter Strike, SP2, and my hardware don't go well together. Remember my other thread about my counter strike crashing problem? It was because of SP2.

LOL +1.

SP2 is worth it, I have no problems with my programs. Perhaps there is some way around?
