Novell ZENworks sucks. My school got a new novell system this year and it screwed up everything. I can't run Firefox anymore!! :'(
Hehe, I've been getting passed that system for years. Do you have the My Applications window?

???
Be cool like me and bring a LiveCD (or, rather, a bootable USB drive) to school.
Portable Firefox.

Stick it on your USB drive. Never used this Novell ZENworks, so don't know if they allow you to access a USB thumbdrive.

I bring a USB drive to school. No applications work because ZENworks disables them. It sucks. :(
That's really stupid. How do you transport files to and from school?

You just have to close the ZEN process, which is really easy.

My guess is that it won't let me. Plus you need Novell to log into the school network. Is there anyway to force kill it? Maybe I'll try that.
Well, here's my little guide to killing NALDASK.EXE really easily using safe programs!
========================================
Step 1:
QuoteDo you have the following application?
http://maide.ca/private/novell/MyApps.JPG
If not, the following might not work! Feel free to try anyway.
Step 2:
QuoteWe need to kill a process called Naldask, it's the one which scans for foriegn processes and kills them. You'd probably think that all you'd need to do is open the Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del default), but if you try that, you'll get the following:
http://maide.ca/private/novell/OhNoes.JPG
So, instead, you'll want to do this:
http://maide.ca/private/novell/HowToKill1.JPG
Open a new MS Word document. Type anything, but do not save.
Step 3:
Note: Read all of the following before you attempt this step.QuoteNext you'll want to open the Start Menu, Click Log Off then Click Log Off on the next dialog
http://maide.ca/private/novell/HowToKill2.JPG
MS Word should then ask you if you'd like to save. Instead of clicking Yes or No, click Cancel. It will abandon the log off.
http://maide.ca/private/novell/HowToKill3.JPG
But, the My Applications Window should be gone, and along with it NALDASK. Yay.
http://maide.ca/private/novell/HowToKill4.JPG
Step 4:
QuoteEnjoy your applications!
Note: Do not do anything that will get you introuble. If you do, you're probably stupid.

I use that trick (or something similar) every time I accidentally hit the power button on one of my computers :P
I still like my method the most! Just install damn small linux (http://damnsmalllinux.org) to a USB drive and boot from it. My school used Novell, but I was able to connect to their network in DSL with DHCP anyway and didn't have to fight with the software.
Thanks Blaze! It works great. :)

Lots of older computers don't boot to USB drives. Plus, sometimes those sorts of things are disabled in the BIOS, which are presumably password protected. I know it's easy to get around that by moving a jumper, but having a computer partially disassembled probably looks a little bit suspicious. :P
Haha. My computer science teacher saw that I was running firefox and he's like "OMG YOU'RE NOT SUPPOST TO BE RUNNING THAT!" -- lol.

I did that once in my computer engineering class. The teacher didn't care. :)

;P. It's either he didn't care, or it was that we were building computers for a project and the computer cases looked similar. I know him on a personal level so it could have been either or.
Here's another trick. When it asks you for the username, try typing in test and then hit TAB. There will probably be quite a few "test" accounts already made if your school's admins are noobs like mine are. Try figuring out the password to one of those accounts. Quite often they will be very easy.
For example, a staff account at my school's login is test3//test3. :)

My schools version does not have tab-completion for the login. :(
That's a really stupid "feature."
It certainly makes it east for cracking un-used teacher accounts. :D
Does anyone know how to crack a Mayet loggin? My school uses Mayet for attandence, grades, etc.

I'd recommend you stay away from endeavors like that.
That's crossing the line. :/
My school uses some Novell-based login system for attendance and (most likely) grades, too. I'm not looking to actively hack and change my grade, though. I'd like to go to college. :)
I was able to get my (any other other) student grades/attendance for browsing using my schools web-software for selecting courses, but I would never go as far to change something, that, as people have stated is crossing the line, and is a good way to get expelled.
I wasn't planning on changing anything, just taking a peek. :D

If by "right" you mean he finds somebody who has access and the authority to show him, and gets that person to show them, you're right!

I'm speaking on moral grounds here. I don't care if he doesn't get caught; it's still wrong.

I wasn't even planning on doing it, just kidding around. I'm not even going to be accessing that teacher's account either.
