VB6 sucks.
Well, it may suck, but at least it allows you to get things done. It is used at a business level and thats good enough for me. Although everything is Java now... :)

If you know C# you know Java.
C# and Java both suck. C, x86 asm, sparc asm, and alpha asm for life.
Great, c0n. Keep it out of my threads, plz k and thx.
You know one you know them all, Java isn't in high demand here.
I think C++ or ASP .NET dominate here
LOL @ ASP .NET
I think Java and PHP are the languages dominant here.

You must live in a pretty isolated programming world. =P
I'd say that the C Family is the way to go, because many programs are written in it, as well as PHP. You get Standalone Development and Web Development. Its a double-wammy.
.NET is the future.
C++ is good to know too.

If that were an accurate reason, 25 years ago Fortran would have been the way to go. You should be aware of what is going on presently, but also be able to work with future technologies.
*points out hes only 14*
What was the way to go 25 years ago? I asumed it was really was fortran.

Fortran and Pascal were really common.... C was a bit of a baby. ;)
I was told by an older friend that if you want to make lots of money, do Cobal(?).
As far as I know, work with Cobal is rather hard to find. It's not very common these days. But yeah -- I'd imagine there'd be a shortage of Cobol programmers.
Still, though. At this moment, .NET is the future--it seriously is.

Maybe it's because old fogies are sticking to old ways and it's rare to find a programmer stuck in the past? :)

lol that's what makes .NET so sexy. right now i have to use .NET because it's free and it owns VB6
and it has no dllhell :). and maybe it doesnt have memory leaks(according to MS it uses a Garbage Collector or something). and also what i found really interesting is that Delphi 8(or 2005) is now .NET . /me searches for torrents
also for non .NET languages, Pascal is the way to go because it owns C++(according to the top 10 reasons why pascal is better than C++)
Is your opinion based souly off of articles?

It always is, since he can bearly program in any of the languages he talks about. :)
nope
the no dllhell i got from Nate
the no memory leaks from M$
the pascal > C++ thing i got from some website. although that info was interesting...
.NET may be the future or whatever, but it certainly is lame
C and assembly for life. Fuck .NET.

I agree, c0n. However, you're going to get a lot more money, recognition and success from .NET than you are going to get by pecking away at C and ASM until late at night.
Mangix. I agree. STFU already. Stop acting smart, or at least just go away.

Yes, fuck making a ton of money and having a good job.
I'm sorry, but I'll take learning a lame framework such as .NET if it'll pay 6 figures a year...
