Title: Remember the Aunt Jemima on MLKJr Day? Here is a PiC (politically incorrect) pa
Post by: CrAz3D on February 10, 2007, 11:14:00 AM
http://www.startribune.com/1592/story/993494.html

Why do so many people get so upset about this?
Sure people died like that and the killing wasnt cool, but oughtn't we be able to get past that inorder to accept everyone as being truly equal?

Oh well.

Have have PiC parties often, gangster (like mob), gangsta(like LA thugs), CEOs & office hoes, pirates v. ninjas, etc
They're all pretty funny, none of them being offensive (so far)

It's a good thing these people aren't visiting Sydney, especially when the Christmas lights are up:

Though the kid on the right is from Connecticut, so I don't know his purpose in the picture..but oh well.

I think the whole thing is dumb. I mean, I don't care about the ploitical correctness, but it's just stupid people being "edgy" and other assholes bitching about it. I mean, there are other things in the world to wory about, and there are other things in the world that are (not being done by Carlos Mencia, or any other shitty commedian) worth fighting for. This isn't one of them.

It's because you're in the North.

I'm going to have to agree with Sidoh on this one.  Those pictures with the Confederate flag are asinine.  Really, Christmas isn't supposed to be about celebrating painful times in a nation's history.

I have mixed feelings about this (the original posted story).

On one hand, it seems that the party was meant as a satire-type thing, to make fun of political incorrectness.

On the other hand, there's nothing funny about lynching blacks, and poking at sore spots is often a bad idea.

It's because you're in the North.

And that's worse than being in the south?  Last time I checked being from "The South" was generally a negative thing. :P

I'm talking intellectually here.  The southern states have some of the worst schools in the country (not that they don't have good schools too...).

That's just because the south represents a small corner of the US, so naturally more big name schools are outside of Dixie. However the south has many great schools, a few being Duke, UVa, and of course, HS-C. Plus, we're rich in history and culture.

I'm talking about bad schools, not the absence of good schools.  I'm not talking about Universities; I'm mainly referring to high schools.  I suppose I could have included them as well, though.  I'm pretty sure the best universities in the US are either on the East or West coast (MIT, Harvard, Stanford, Berkley, etc).

My economics professor sent us a bunch of graphs of per-pupil spending and average SAT scores by state.  I can try to dig them up and post them if you're interested.
