oops. hit quote, not edit.

I swear by Python. I'm forced to used basically every language under the sun these days, for work, though.

I promise, get passed the tabbing, and Python is amazing. Granted, I don't use it for anything Windows related. All of my coding lately has been on Linux. =\

just another reason why PHP blows

Wait...so every bnet1 game is getting a patch today?

No. World of Warcraft just got this feature. There's not much use for it right now, other than cross-faction/realm chat. Once SC2 and D3 come out, though, it will be extremely awesome.

The new Battle.net 2.0 cross-game, RealID chat system is being released, in full, today. This is going to be the first legitimate release of the software in a working client. Safe to say the protocol won't be changing entirely after this point.

An AIM-like client would be badass.

I knew it. I've been calling you gay for years, based on content of all your posts, and I was always right.

General Discussion / Re: Age Differential
« on: May 27, 2010, 11:32:28 am »
I was thinking about this today and came up with a few scenarios:

Can a freshman in college (18) date a senior in college? (22)
Can a freshman in high school (14) date a senior in high school? (18)
Can an 8th grader (13) date a junior in high school? (17)

I'd say definitely, iffy, and absolutely not. The difference in the last two bother me.

The first one is definitely. Anything 18+ is acceptable. The larger the gap after 18+ just becomes kind of like "wow, the older person must be really rich." The second one is kind of like ... I don't know. It wouldn't have even happened in my high school. I know we would jokingly make fun of guys who dated girls even in the grade below us, as seniors. Granted, we had a lot of really good looking girls in our grade. I don't think I can not recall a single instance where a guy dated a freshman girl, in high school.

The last one is just ... no.

Scenario A:  A 25 y/o man is dating a 20 y/o woman.

Scenario B:  A 35 y/o man is dating a 30 y/o woman.

Society is pretty messed up in that it is less socially acceptable for scenario A to occur than scenario B, at least from my perception of how society views it.  Doesn't make sense to me.

Don't even get me started on how society somehow deems older woman dating a younger man as socially taboo.  Times are changing but as of now things like this seem more like a novelty than widespread social acceptance.

Sorry, but if you think 25 dating 20 is messed up then you're fucking weird. Now, 20 dating 15 is weird. But, 25 dating 20 is perfectly fine. If both parties are in college or graduated from it, then it doesn't matter.

WTB screenies.

I would, but after getting to know the Blizzard employee that gave us these F&F invites, I wouldn't be surprised at all if some of them checked out this forum every so often. And, my warz name here carries over to my WoW accounts, so ... :P

But, perhaps you don't know about http://www.mmo-champion.com/ ? They're currently leaking thousands of screenshots from the Alpha client. I have no clue how they haven't received a takedown, yet.

If anyone else gets invited, I'll be on Gilneas PvP server, Horde side. Character's name is Treesus.

The client is still very alpha-y feeling. Lots of sounds missing, and stuff. New starting zones are real cool, though. The Worgen one feels more like an arcade game or something. I am pretty high though so that could be why,.

Yea, grats. I'm pretty sure you'll re-evaluate your own definition of dream job afterwards, though. :P
