A universal RPG system designed by Steve Jackson (The creator of Munchkin) Gurps uses a 3d6 system instead of your normal D20 game. It's built around hackmaster a lot. Yet so far its quite enjoyable we have a great gamemaster, who basically has stretched a paragraph introduction adventure into once a week for the last four months of gaming. Anyone interested a lot of the stuff can be found online and its quite easy to get a character generated and played. Check it out!

Delve deep into the dark labyrinth of what is version 2.0 of the original RPG system. While it does take the time to create a character (creation runs around 2hours to make or so) It's quite in depth and takes  some of the imagination out of background stories, as you roll for certain scenarios during character creation and tie it in later. One of the biggest things this version of role-playing offers is quirks and flaws . Also the fact your character can actually die during character creation is quite funny. I've played this system over the last few months and have really enjoyed it, read more about it at:

I missed one of the most important plot scenes, apparently.

*Spoilers*

Apparently the monster fell from the sky in the last scene on the ferris wheel?  I totally missed that.
I thought it came from the ocean.

It was something falling from space that awoke it.

On a funny note the first scene with the monster I sort of had it and yelled out. "No wonder the lochness monster come back you keep givin him tree fitty" The entire audience burst out laughing and some guy in the back imitated chefs mom and goes "Aww I thought he'd shoo away, stupid lochness monster".

Other then that the movie was meh, what made it worst was the Hellboy 2 trailer *shudder*

I don't think I'll be seeing it. I'm not into action, and I've never been into a transformers movie or show. I just plain don't care. Plus, I know the ending. :)
boooo what a queer why do people ruin great movies by not seeing it and knowing the ending.

but it is a pretty cool movie the CGI is cool and the action is good too. i think there is some potential for a sequel.

Sequel is already being developed. All the actors and voice actors of the remaining transformers have agreed to do a sequel.

That's an easy no-brainer

250$ compared to 500-600. Sony loses money on every sale of their PS3 as it is, making sales back up in quantity is the only thing they have going for them.

Well, the reason its selling out is because at least (locally) in my electronics division we're getting maybe 3-4 units every other week or so, they're selling out because most stores around here are getting limited numbers of units in between long time spans.

The only thing I can say about this movie is, Fucking wow!

Plot line was great, the CGI animation transition was slick as hell and overall had some comedy to it, totally awesome movie, I gave it a 10/10. Wasn't disappointed at all.

Game Night 2:

We basically found ourselves in a room with the main "good" guy of the game, explaining to us about how we acquired these sacred artifacts, and unfortunately our ogre in the group has an Int of 7, so being in class he started going through the bag of artifacts handing out stuff to random people. After the huge commotion my character (necromancer) ended up getting a cloak with wing symbols on it. So our intellectual adept ogre decided to try my cloak out and he basically threw me about 150 feet in the air. Turns out the cloak actually gave me the ability to fly. Very bad decision for the GM since considering that feat I basically pissed him off the entire game by flying around and casting spells.

Unfortunately his main creature that I made shit himself to death came back immune to curse, so a few times he would try to swoop down and pick me up and I'd just basically use blink (astral travel) and escape all his attacks. The last turn of the game he ended up swooping me up and dropping me down (not realizing my cloaks ability). So I fell and fell until about 10 feet from the ground and just slowfalled on the ground. I blinked again and waited for any decent attack of opportunity to come up.

Needless to say I got my special moment of the night, I ended up blinking right behind the demon and took out my sword and literally ran it up his backside. I went to run my rolls, natural 20, so the GM looks at me and goes alright, confirm the crit, I roll again, natural 20. The GM looks at me with a look of disgust as I get the final blow on the monster and kill it. Overall it was an awesome game, I'm liking it a lot.

We did introduce a new character, a buddy of mine designed it he first game since we had one member drop due to conflict of schedule with work, he rolled a cat race, that wields a huge ax, unfortunately he has a natural obsession with yarn, and it turned out one of the artifacts that came out of the bag was a magic ball of yarn, (this is where we found the cat at to include in the group) So he befriended the ogre, and the ogre has basically been doing the wolverine fastball special with the cat. Our GM said he had something special planned this coming Tuesday for us. So I can't wait to check it out. I'll keep you guys updated on the game.

On a side note we ended up running a D20 modern campaign based off of Final Fantasy 7, so far its looking like it'll be fun, I'll leave a separate post for that one though ;)

Unix / Linux Discussion / Re: deepthought is operational

I've seen this thread title like 10 times and every single time I've read it as "deepthroat is optional"

Not surprisingly, only the people I consider morally corrupt have said they misread "Deepthought" as "deepthroat." :)

Haha, just kidding.  I've had a few friends comment on that, though.  I've personally never mistaken it for deepthroat, but that's because I've subjected myself to "Deep Thought" more than "Deep Throat," lol.

Must.. take you away from your chair..

Hopefully Canada and the US will start to adopt mass-transit systems (trains, LRT, trams, busses, etc)
Every major city I have ever been to has at least one mass transit system in place.  Generally the more congested, geographically concentrated cities have the better systems.  In some cities, like Chicago or Seattle, its not even feasible to drive a car in town (albeit due to traffic congestion).  I haven't been to london or paris, but from what I'm told its very similar there for the same reasons.

I've been to both and the traffic congestion truly is terrible. The only types of vehicles you'll see there on the roads besides the transit vehicles will be the BMW's and the Mercedes, mostly only the people that are wealthy will actually drive, everyone else takes the underground or the buses.

The first Fantastic 4 movie I saw wasn't all that great.  It was okay..  So do you guys think this one is better than the first?  Or do you think it was about the same?

Much better than the original. Not to mention Morpheus as the voice of the surfer? Hard to miss on that one!
