I have Norton Partition magic, however, I'm sure exactly sure on what I'm doing so I've come to ask.

I have a 120gb hard drive.
100gb for drive C
13gb for drive D (recovery)

-I want to create a partition for Vista
-I want to create a small partition so I can transfer stuff back & forth between Vista & XP

What size for Vista?
What file type, NTFS?

No, you should use FAT32. ::)

Are you going to install Vista on the same partition that XP is on?  You probably shouldn't do that.  In either case, though, both operating systems support NTFS.  You don't need a partition to transfer stuff back and forth; all you need do is access the partition (or the same one?) and get what you need.

If you have files on your system that you don't want to lose, back them up before resizing partitions.  There's a reason the program is called "Partition Tragic"

Bah, too many errors on the disk to partition now.

Cleanup, defrag, & then maybe "chkdsk /f" as I read to do.  Hopefully I can get this all going soon
