Help W/ Dvd Decoder

I have a problem.... so I am trying to put my Dvd's to avi form or mp4 form but for some reason i cannot do it. i have this product. http://www.winavi.com/  but when ever I try to convert it to Avi or MP4 i have to do something with Video_TS and it is very weird... can anyone help?! either with a decoder or something that will let me convert this will be awesome Thanks.
