I love this show! I think it's pretty hard to make a fairly somber drama as captivating as Shameless is. It's based on a series by the same name in the UK, which has done pretty well and is in its 9th season. I blasted through the two available seasons in a week or so.

Does anyone watch it?

Furious

Yeah, the wife and I started ( and finished ) watching it recently.  Good series!  Can't wait for the next season to start.

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

I'm interested.  Should I start at season 1 or whatever season is the first US season?

Yeah, you'll definitely want to start with the first season. The series tells a story; the individual episodes aren't very well self-contained.
