You cant pass out / die from manually holding your breath its impossible. You'd be doomed :(.

You can probably pass out with some difficulty by holding your breath, but as soon as you passed out (which is giving up voluntary muscle control), you'd resume normal breathing.  That's what happens when you pass out.  You couldn't die from holding your breath, no matter what Maddox says.  ;)
