I use godaddy, and it works fine for me. You've created an A record for @?
I don't use A records, I use CNAME because till recently I didn't have a static IP

warz

yea, you should probably set that up correctly.

You still need at least 1 A record for the CNAMEs to point to unless you are pointing everything to some other domain like a dyndns setup (eww) :)

I can also now see the forum section "Clan Members Only"  its between "Announcements" and "General Forums" its actual forums are hidden, but maybe someone should stop messing with the board controls. Its recent within the last 24hrs, unless I've been completely oblivious to it.

I am pointing it to a dyndns -- what's eww about that? It's an awesome way to handle a non-static ip, because I can update all ~8 of my domains by updating a single one.

That normally means that somebody moved a non-hidden forum under a hidden one. We have a section in the members' only section for old boards, so likely somebody moved an inactive board to there and forgot to hide it.

I'd hardly call that "messing with board controls", though -- and what's the big deal that somebody should stop?

It's eww because it generates issues exactly like the one you have!

edit: if godaddy's dns manager is giving you issues, change your NS entries and use zoneedit.com or a simlar free DNS server

Well, that's just godaddy sucking :P

I have a static ip now so I can do this properly... I just need to get on it :)

I've used zoneedit in the past, but now that GoDaddy's DNS controls don't suck so much any more, I've stopped.

I seem to remember reading something about it being illegal (in the strictest interpretation of the spec) to use a CNAME for @, or something.

Heh, on the plus side, at least I didn't delete anything!  Or is that really a plus?

(I hid some member forums that hadn't been posted in this year.)
And like a fool I believed myself, and thought I was somebody else...
