I replaced the milk with coconut milk and left out the yogurt (ended up having to add a bit of vinegar to give it the taste that the yogurt left out). I had planned to use some soy yogurt I had, but it had went moldy. Oops :)

Anyway, it's awesome. :)

also, coconuts are gross.

i think trying to convince me to become vegan is immoral.  it's like trying to convince me to KILL MYSELF.

You don't like coconuts? That's crazy! Coconuts are awesome! :)

Though, they aren't really all that good for you, so you're probably better off without.

I like coconut milk, but i don't like coconut shavings, etc.  I've always hated almond joys for this reason.

Interesting!

The coconut shavings turned out to be insignificant, probably because I used coconut milk. Ohwell. :)

I like coconut milk, and not coconut as well.  :)
And like a fool I believed myself, and thought I was somebody else...

QuoteBotanically, a coconut is a simple dry nut. The husk, or mesocarp, is composed of fibers called coir; the inner stone, or endocarp is the hardest part of the nut. The endocarp (the outside of the coconut as sold in the shops of non-tropical countries) has three germination pores that are clearly visible on the outside surface once the husk is removed. It is through one of these that the radicle emerges when the embryo germinates. Adhering to the inside wall of the endocarp is the testa, with a thick albuminous endosperm (the coconut "meat"), the white and fleshy edible part of the seed.

I almost understood the first sentence of that quote, but then I got confused.

Are coconuts actually considered a nut?

You might be right about that, Joe.

Nuts are seeds. More specifically, I think they function as the fruit (in the scientific sense) and the nut of the flowering plant.

QuoteThough its name suggests that it is a nut, I've always regarded coconut as a fruit. When the coconut is young, it has properties like fruit, and as it matures, it becomes more nutty. But in fact it is not a nut or a fruit; it is a seed.
