Sorry my first attempt at story telling didn't go well, I'll include all the details and you can rerank it.

So we were drinking at her place and I was laying on the floor. She decided it looked like fun to stand on me and I susquently 'tackled' her to the floor. At this point shes basically cuddling me, but then Sir. Douchebag has to go and pull her away.

Did I mention hes pretty much a state cop?

Get a Dell... or a Thinkpad, no reason to get a MacBook just to stick Vista on it!

if you're just going to stick vista on it, why not get a dell or something for half the price, and quite possibly much better. my dell laptop is about a year and a half old and it has all of those specs.

edit: fck u zorm

A good laptop from Dell (pieced out) = ~$1600/1700... the MB Pro (mid-range one on apple's site) running in at $1750 is probably about the same specs if only a little weaker, plus the graphics card uses DDR3 memory and the memory is like... DDR2 800 MHz or something to that extent, so it'd be fast. And Apple's customer service is pretty awesome. They did replaced my waterlogged phone... no questions asked, either! And I could learn OS X... and be a triple threat in the OS scene.

Or, you could get a Dell with Ubuntu on it and stick Vista on it, especially considering how much Apple charges for upgrades.

I can buy the upgrades and install them myself at a reasonable price. Of course they're going to charge an arm and a leg if they do it: their usual customers are computer illiterate and don't know how.

I've had girls stand on me before... I dunno, though. We'll need warrior's opinion on the matter.

And if he's a cop... fuck him. Underage drinking is a big no-no to them. If you want to get him in trouble, somehow slip that into an anonymous note or something. :)

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

Apple's hardware tends to have narrower tolerances. You can't, for example, take any RAM and throw it in a mac; you have to use what it's designed for. It doesn't justify the markup, but it's also not as if Apple is keeping a secret about what RAM to buy - they tell you right on their website exactly what to buy. I spent $150 on RAM for my MacBook that Apple wanted $600 for - exact same make and model.

*nix - X11 + Apple's proprietary windowing system which is unbreakable = Mac OS X.

It's definitely not unbreakable. I've been using OSX for 5 years, and it DID crash once.

Granted, it started back up almost immediately, and none of my programs crashed/closed as a result.
