Thermite, on the other hand, is legal and not that difficult to make. You definitely should have went that way. :)

They did it on mythbusters.  It looked pretty easy, too.  :)

In high school, my chemistry teacher did it twice.  And a friend I know has made it.  And they did it once in first year chem.  But it's not totally simple, and without risk.
