I think I'm going to ask that girl to accompany me to an invite-only Christmas Party at a fraternity at my school. I'm walking a thin line with her, obviously (more obviously to those who I've told the story to), but the worst she can say is no. If she says no, I'll go alone..which is what I do if I don't ask her.
I definitely see the "thin line," but I would call it a grey area instead.  Go for it.

Make sure you point her to this website so we can straighten out her opinion of you.

No, you missed the point, I'm certain she already thinks I'm a nice guy.

We're on Thanksgiving break and I think it'd be better to ask her in person. The only problem with that is that if she doesn't have a cocktail dress with her at school then that sucks.

Just ask, foo!

We're on Thanksgiving break...we won't be back at our respective schools until Sunday, so I won't see her until sometime next week.

dip is gross, I've tried it once and it wasn't even real dip..it was the pouches. Feels good but is a gross habit IMO.

That just means you need to act faster in the meeting -> dating step.
And like a fool I believed myself, and thought I was somebody else...
