I got some money from one of the people going on our Mexico trip, yay, now only like $420 short for travel expenses.

Any particular reason for going to Mexico? I did a little build-a-wannabe-home-for-a-poor-Mexican deal that was pretty cool. As far as working 20~+ hours goes, it wasn't a bad time; there were lot's of people I knew there. My friend does one of those with his church, but he said that every basically stands around and talks. (it took them 30+ people and 3 days, mine took 20~ people and 2 days)

meh, I havent been fishing in ages (never been on anything except lake or stream either).  plus, my friends, fishing, HA!

Taking them backpacking this weekend is going to be funny (and maybe bad)...20% chance of rain!  Thunderstorms, it'll be a cool packing trip

Heheh, sounds... fun.

Deep sea fishing > lake fishing IMO.

You could probably hook up with some sort of charter boat thatll take you out for ~5-6 hours and give you rods and stuff. My friend just did a 4 day trip out of Mexico and caught a few 200lb fish and one 300lb bluefin. Sounds badass.

I'd agree, deep sea sounds more fun than lake (I aint old enough for lake fishin yet...too boring heh)

I prefer small stream fishing...I caught my 1st fish up the river a ways from where we're goin saturday.

This is gonna be some of my friends' first time actually camping, itll be awesome since its backpacking in the rain & all ;)!

this weekend will not be hot...highs in the 80s, lows in the 60s...pretty nice.  Cloud cover most of the time & we're right on the river (which is very pretty & very clear) so we can cool off there too!

Isn't humidity in Mexico bad?

I hate humidity almost as much as heat.

Then it seems like the humidity would be bad. There's about a 10-15% difference from coastal San Diego to where I live.
