The limit is based on how much RAM and hard disk space you have.

Well, obviously. :P

I was thinking that the performance didn't decrease linearly, though, which would make the "limit" make more sense.

You should avoid being logged in as root!

I knew someone was going to say that. I was installing an application that had to be dealt with in root. I'm sorry.

I'm so original.

Eww, clutter up that desktop more!  Seriously.  Do it.
And like a fool I believed myself, and thought I was somebody else...

I don't understand why you linked me there? It looks nice but, I like the way my terminal looks now :)

Yes, I added the watermark to the screenshot.  I like DB, and I don't want people pirating the work from my screenshot :P

From: Samsung SyncMaster 245B (24") @ 1920x1200 + ViewSonic VX2034wm (20.5") @ 1680x1050 - the ViewSonic is offset down so that the bottoms of the monitors are even.  I'm using UltraMon 3.0.1 for my second taskbar and the double-monitor wallpaper :D

I have a programming folder, and I have nothing of value there

My windows side desktop.  I have arch installed on my main machine as well but rarely use it just because I don't like to reboot (I can't run Warcraft nearly as well from linux, unfortunately).

I have 2 19" LCD monitors, the primary one (on the right) is a LG that I absolutely love.  I do most everything on the right monitor and use the left primarily for reference pertaining to whatever activity I'm doing.  Pidgin is usually docked on the far left which explains the slightly odd placement of my few odd folders there.  I like to keep my temporary folders on my desktop to help remind me to clean them up.  The odd little array of clocks near the bottom right of the left screen is a pardus clock which reminds me of certain regular events for an online web based mmo I play.  The only other notable I can think of at the moment is the magnet icon in my system tray.  That is for SftpDrive, a utility that saves me ridiculous amounts of time.

Newby

The only problem I've had with sftp is that transfer rates seem to cap off at ~200 KB/sec when downloading... even on a LAN...

From my experiences, scp'ing songs over wasn't affected.

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.
