The "Loser" Level
« on: January 29, 2005, 02:42:45 am »
It's time I told you guys a thing or two about email.

See, there's this thing known as the "Loser Level".  When you send an email, do you see the little "Cc" at the top? That's the "Loser Level".  You put the cool people in "To", and the losers in "Cc".  That's just how it is.

Now, there is an ultimate way to get back at somebody who places you in the "Loser Level", which involves the "To" field.  I'll have to give you an example of this.  Note how, after being asked a question by Kevin, I respond by putting Derek in the Cc field.  Look at how he reacts:

Let that be a lesson, be careful who you pick fights with.

It means 'carbon copy'.

And what about BCC?!

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

Bcc is Blind Carbon Copy -- in terms of coolness, it's worse to be Bcc then Cc. but the worse is still ronsux@ronsux.com

I disagree.  I think BCC is good for people who are in the CIA and stuff....  Plus, it's really the only way to send e-mail en masse to people.  It's wayyyyy uncool to send 30 people each other's email addresses.

I know what BCC is, I meant how does it fit in with your plan!

And who got you ronsux@ronsux.com, or is it spoofed (or something)?! :P

Who cares if the address doesn't exist, all you get is a message back from the SMTP server saying "newbie"

Oh, hahaha. I misread that, I thought iago got the mail at his account "ronsux@ronsux.com", it was just filler so the sender could put them in the loser level. Ahh, I got it ;)

He didn't even HAVE to put a To: in, he just felt like informing Ron that he Sux.

It's more fun to make typing mistakes in somebody's name, like "newbysuxxx@gmail.com" and then putting their real address in BCC, see if they even notice :)
