From CBS News:

QuoteIraq hanged 13 insurgents Thursday, marking the first time militants have been executed in the country since the U.S.-led invasion ousted Saddam Hussein nearly three years ago, the government said.

So now, both sides are killing each other.  The good guys (if they can be called that) are killing the bad guys, and the bad guys are killing the good guys.  And they're basically doing it for the same politically-motivated reasons.  I personally think this is a very bad idea, hanging them is only going to enrage others and cause more attacks and more hangings and more bombings and the country is going to go to Hell.  Or back to Hell.

QuoteThe Cabinet announcement listed the name of only one of those hanged, Shukair Farid, a former policeman in the northern city of Mosul, who allegedly confessed that he had worked with Syrian foreign fighters to enlist fellow Iraqis to carry out assassinations against police and civilians.
I rather him be dead than alive.

It might start more problems, but eventually the problems will die down, thus being the nature of things.  Everything that goes up has to come down.
The once grove of splendor,
Aforetime crowned by lilac and lily,
Lay now forevermore slender;
And all winds that liven
Silhouette a lone existence;
A leafless oak grasping at eternity.

Uh you do realize these people were most likely given a proper trial and death sentence right? Its hard to compare that to the guy walking down the street with an ak47 shooting women and children. Also when the bad guys are already doing everything in their power to cause problems its unlikely that they will be incited more by their buddies being hanged.

I don't agree with the death penalty anywhere, for basically the same reason.  By killing people for their crimes, you're demonstrating that killing solves certain problems.  They should be demonstrating the opposite of that, if you ask me.

You can't reason with criminals.

Why is this news? It's typical middle-eastern behavior.

You can't reason with criminals.
That doesn't mean you have to kill them.

You can't reason with criminals.

Out of context, yes, you can, but only under the appropriate circumstances.

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

I agree.  We should start with the US, then work our way down and over.

Unless you just mean foreign to the US.  But I think that pretty much all countries (except the US) would agree, if every country but one should be destroyed, the only survivor probably shouldn't be the US.  :P

Too bad for the rest of the world that the US kicks ass and will continue to kick ass for a very long time to come. Hell, you Canadians might have to stoop to the level of the Palestinians and throw rocks at our armor if you even want to have a chance of destroying the US. Oh, no rocks you say? Well I guess snowballs will have to suffice.
