According to LED signs on busses, Stephan Harper (who is the Canadian Prime Minister [like a President, but not American]) eats babies.

Would you consider hacking to making a political statement, iago?

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

Never.  I wouldn't hack for any reason unless I had explicit permission from the person who is to be hacked, and I don't have strong political convictions.

Hrm, risk losing money and any chance at a job in the government, as well as perhaps jail time, for fame? (Nobody listens to shit like that, in the end it would just be something you do so that you could tell people you did it.) That's retarded.

I think that this situation, in particular, was simply for humor and not for a political statement.

Obviously, but I was referring to GameSnake's comments.

I was asking iago a question, Quik. And I'm willing to bet a hacker does things like this for personal satisfaction sometimes, not just political/ego gains.

You portscanned me when I first gave you my IP without asking. Not like it wasn't obvious I would have said I didn't care if you asked for it, but you did indeed not ask. =p

EDIT -
Go joe for murdering quote tags. Fixed.

You might be right about that, Joe.

dark_drake

Is that how Canada keeps its population down?  Maybe they should start importing from China or India.
errr... something like that...

Portscanning is nothing like hacking.  What I do is more like walking past somebody's house, without approaching it, and seeing if there's anything odd-looking.

Joe

If I remember correctly you tried to access my built-into-windows-address-book thingy or something, but I guess you do have a point about portscanning.

I have no idea what you're talking about.  If I tried to access anything, you were aware of it, so there's no problem.

AntiVirus

That's really funny.  It wouldn't surprise me if he did.. I mean, he is Canadian.
The once grove of splendor,
Aforetime crowned by lilac and lily,
Lay now forevermore slender;
And all winds that liven
Silhouette a lone existence;
A leafless oak grasping at eternity.
