I'm pretty sure there's a joke there, but I'm missing it.
You're not the first; you won't be the last.
errr... something like that...

BSD has a badass name.

Berkely Software Distribution?  Doesn't sound very creative to me. :P
I meant the acronym.  Nobody says "Hey I'm going to use Free Berkely Software Distribution!"

You obviously haven't taken a programming class in high school, deadly. "Own" and "noob" are part of our everyday vocabulaty, along with "o-bob" (off by one bug) and some other interesting terms.

You might be right about that, Joe.

I've never heard any of those in a programming class (except for people who are making fun of children).  The closest we used is saying "off by one" or "oh be one" or "obi wan", but that was only ever a joke.

Prove it.  I don't think WXP sounds terrible, while we're using acronyms.

WXP sounds awesome.  I wouldn't mind supporting an OS that has that for a name!
Ok, let's see:
Which do you call it? BSD or Berkely Software Distribution?

What in the bloody helly are you talking about?  And you haven't taken a real programming class either, so shut it.

BSD, but I find myself frequently saying XP in lieu of Windows XP.

What constitutes a real programming class?

One where you learn something along with use a real language (I don't consider VB a "real" language, I'm sorry).

Why?  I don't see where Visual Basic fails as a programming language.  It certainly seems to at least teach the basic principles of programming, in the least.

Along with other extremely sloppy coding habits.  Look at Joe's code for examples.

Seeing as you have a relatively weak background in programming, I don't understand why you're making such harsh judgements.  His Java examples seemed OK to me.

Sloppy programming is still programming, deadly.  Despite these efforts, you've not convinced me in the least to disregard Visual Basic as a programming language.
