The writ of the founders must endure.

d&q

QuoteWe were tight, but it falls apart as silver turns to blue.
Waxing with a candlelight, and burning just for you.
Allocate your sentiment, and stick it in a box.
I've never been an extrovert, but i'm still breathing.

With hindsight, I was more than blind, lost without a clue.
Thought I was getting carat gold, and what I got was you.
Stuck inside the circumstances, lonely at the top.
I've always been an introvert
happily bleeding.

Quote
I mustve dreamed a thousand dreams
Been haunted by a million screams
But I can hear the marching feet
Theyre moving into the street.

Now did you read the news today
They say the dangers gone away
But I can see the fires still alight
There burning into the night.

Theres too many men
Too many people
Making too many problems
And not much love to go round
Cant you see
This is a land of confusion.

This is the world we live in
And these are the hands were given
Use them and lets start trying
To make it a place worth living in.

Ooh superman where are you now
When everythings gone wrong somehow
The men of steel, the men of power
Are losing control by the hour.

This is the time
This is the place
So we look for the future
But theres not much love to go round
Tell me why, this is a land of confusion.

This is the world we live in
And these are the hands were given
Use them and lets start trying
To make it a place worth living in.

I remember long ago -
Ooh when the sun was shining
Yes and the stars were bright
All through the night
And the sound of your laughter
As I held you tight
So long ago -

I wont be coming home tonight
My generation will put it right
Were not just making promises
That we know, well never keep.

Too many men
Theres too many people
Making too many problems
And not much love to go round
Cant you see
This is a land of confusion.

Now this is the world we live in
And these are the hands were given
Use them and lets start trying
To make it a place worth fighting for.

This is the world we live in
And these are the names were given
Stand up and lets start showing
Just where our lives are going to.
Genesis is awesome.  This song is Land of Confusion.

Some of you are probably familiar with Disturbed's cover for the song.
errr... something like that...

Sidoh

In Flames has a cover as well.  I'm pretty sure there have been a lot of covers for this song.  The lyrics don't seem to fit the theme of either Disturbed or In Flames, though...

Joe

The horsemen are drawing nearer
On leather steeds they ride
They've come to claim your life

On through the dead of night
With the four horsemen ride
Or choose your fate and die!

You might be right about that, Joe.

Truly, this whole song should be quoted, but this is my absolute favorite part:

"I'm slamming niggaz like Shaquille, shit is real
When it's time to eat a meal I rob and steal
'cos Mom Duke ain't giving me shit
so for the bread and butter I leave niggaz in the gutter"

Artist: Notorious B.I.G.
Song: Gimme The Loot

Quote
Send me the best you've got.
Send me your strongest machines.
The fight my brother fought, here, now,
will end with me.

Is this the best you've got?
Is this your strongest machine?
Now with one powershot,
you'll see what vengeance means.
Part of the song Vengeance by the Protomen.
errr... something like that...

Joe

Die!
By..my..hand..
I creep across the land
Killing first born man!

Die!
By..my..hand..
I creep across the land
Killing first born man!

So let it be written
So let it be done
I'm sent here by the chosen one!

So let it be written
So let it be done
To kill the first-born pharaoh son!

I'm creeping death!

Well we scheme and we scheme but we always blow it
we've yet to crash, but we still might as well enjoy it
Standing at a light switch to each east and west horizon,
Every dawn you're surprising,
And the evening was consoling
Saying "See it wasn't quite as bad as"

Oh it would've been, could've been worse than you would ever know.
The writ of the founders must endure.

What is the song and artist?  This sounds familiar.
The once grove of splendor,
Aforetime crowned by lilac and lily,
Lay now forevermore slender;
And all winds that liven
Silhouette a lone existence;
A leafless oak grasping at eternity.

"They say that I must learn to kill before I can feel safe, but I rather kill myself then turn into their slave."

It's the song Dashboard, by Modest Mouse.

No wonder.  My best friend's favorite band is Modest Mouse, lol.

I've got something to say!
I killed your baby today.
It doesn't matter much to me, as long as it's dead.

I've got something to say!
I raped your mother today.
It doesn't matter much to me, as long as she spread.

Wow... wth do you listen to?  You're a terrible person. :P

Artist: Metallica
Album: Garage Inc (1998)
Song: Last Caress / Green Hell

EDIT -

Those people who tell you not to take chances
They are all missing on what life's about
You only live once so take hold of the chance
Don't end up like others, the same song and dance!

Metallica
Kill 'Em All (1983)
Motorbreath

EDIT -

Mechanix is a cool song too, but more for instrumentals than lyrics. The main guitar riff is insane. Dave Mustaine's style is "simple but fast". It was performed by Megadeth on "Killing is my Business" if you'd like to look it up, and the original version (half-time, I believe) is on Metal Up Your Ass and No Life 'Til Leather, Metallica's demos (Mustaine was sacked from Metallica before their first album).

EDIT -

Oh, I'm an idiot. For the first song, it was actually a cover of a song by the Misfits by the sama name.
