Theme: Countdown to Xcellence (Spaceport America is just north of town so our whole area is rather space/X-Prize oriented currently)

Our group: College Republicans

Parade is next saturday morning.

Basically what we have is a flatbed (being pulled by my truck possibly) with candidate campaign signs.
We need to make a few banners so that people recognize it as NMSU College Republicans but we need to incorporate this XPrize theme too. Any ideas?

Draw awesome space ships flying over NM?
Have a rocket crashed in sand? (which is what happened with the first launch)--I think this would be funny, but might not be good for some reason


I'm thinkin build a large rocket out of cardboard or something & putting College Republicans on it. Maybe saying "America's youth rocketing into the future" or w/e

I did some searches on your themes (Repbulicans - Space).

The only recurring theme was Bush's Space intiative in his 2004 State of the Union. He announced he was determined to go to Mars.

How about a guy in a suit with a Bush mask that has green antenea coming out the top, waving to the crowd.

He could also be straddling a big fence with a Mexican under each arm.:lol:

Or a wall on the float.
On one side have somebody talking on the phone.
On the other side, the Bush guy has a water glass pressed between the wall and his ear. :lol:

No wait, a huge pile of sand.
The Bush guy is digging on one side....
on the other side a cardboard fuselage is sticking out with 'WMD' on it. :lol:
