Facebook killed the radio star. And by radio star, I mean the premise of distributed forums around the internet. And that got got by Instagram/SnapChat. And that got got by TikTok. Where the fuck is the internet we once knew?

My iPod has this message:

It randomly stopped playing as I was walking home from class, then I did the reset thing (menu + the center button)...then I got above message.

I tried the troubleshooting (restore) but the iPod wont show up on in iTunes.  When I go to the Apple/Support/iPod site and try to submit info for having it repaired I get :

Quote

Error 500--Internal Server Error

10.5.1 500 Internal Server Error

The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.

I should've just bought a Zune, even though they didn't exist and all. :(
Stupid Apple.

I'll take it by the campus computer store this afternoon and see if they can't help me out.  If they can't, do I want a new iPod or should I spend $100 to have it fixed (if they CAN fix it)?

I've had a sad iPod twice. I managed it to fix it the first time using the relatively well known "bang it vertically against a hard surface repeatedly", but I sent it in the second time. Both times I got the sad iPod it was because the hdd had disconnected.

Lmao!  That is such an awesome picture.

I have never had major problems with my ipod.  I love it.
The once grove of splendor,
Aforetime crowned by lilac and lily,
Lay now forevermore slender;
And all winds that liven
Silhouette a lone existence;
A leafless oak grasping at eternity.

It fixed itself earlier, then it broke again (but when it broke time #2 the hdd was cleared of my music! :o)

I had that problem with the first iPod I had.  I've since bought a 60 GB one and haven't had many issues with it (aside from the infrequent "freezes" it seems to have).

If this one breaks, I'll likely buy another type of MP3 player.

Incidentally, my Physics lab partners and I have great fun ridiculing Steve Jobs when the Apple computers in the labs refuse to work (thankfully we didn't have to use them more than a few times this semester...).  That being said, the computers are old and crappy as it is, so it probably isn't very fair to base an opinion of them off of that. :P

At my F150 site the few Apple users (& the one Apple guru) there have recently been having issues, too.  It seems like Apple had a time limit for good.

...except that they're evil, more so than Microsoft.

Could someone please tell me what makes a company evil?
errr... something like that...

In this context and from a silly perspective, one who's primary focus is business and money.

CrAz3D

...they're also pretty bad about environmental stuff, too, I read.

Haha... That image is great. I'm suprised apple hasn't changed it yet.

I've never had an iPod, but whenever my eMac had issues the store I bought it from fixed them for free.

Until your warranty runs out, then you pay out the ass.  The default warranties for iPods only last a year.

My eMac's warranty ran out over a year and a half ago.

You should look into an alternative MP3 Player.

My first iPod (2nd gen) had that. I took it apart and never fixed it. :(

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.
