Vacation

So for the last week, this is what happened:

Thursday: friend arrived in Calgary, went to the pub

Friday: I took off work to go to Drumheller, AB (including the "Royal Tyrell Museum" and "Reptile World"). I haven't been there since I was a kid, so it brought back some memories. Drumheller is a major place for paleontology, one of the best sites in the world, and that's what the museum is dedicated to: dinosaurs.

Saturday: Went to Banff. I also haven't been in the mountains since I was a kid, so it was cool too. We did a little shopping, and some hiking briefly. We looked at the hotsprings, which, it turns out, is a swimming pool that happens to use mountain water (chlorinated and full of people.. totally not cool).

Sunday: Went to the Calgary Zoo for the day. Was awesome.

Monday: Worked all day, then went to concert in the evening: Kataklysm, DevilDriver, Unearth, and Dimmu Borgir. It was awesome, I love all those bands (mostly DevilDriver, and leastly Unearth).

Tuesday (yesterday): Did some shopping, stocked up on pudding and yogurt. Bought a book shelf and some other junk. Also got some ice cream from a place call The Marble Slab Creamery. It was the most amazing ice cream I ever had! It's made fresh in the store, as are the cones, and it's mixed with topping (on a marble slab)! It was unbelievable...

Today: Sleep all evening. My friend leaves today.

My friend took a ton of pictures, which are forthcoming, likely in a couple weeks.

On the subject of pudding, I made a chocolate cream pie yesterday. It was awesome.

I realized recently that the title for this thread is stupid. I didn't take a vacation. I did take Friday off (in lieu of a day I worked without pay), but that's hardly a vacation.

The vacation was my friend's, who came here from Winnipeg.

My aunt has Mable Slabs in Austin, she saw our Coldstone & said it was pretty similar.
...maybe owners split once?

We have those too! and yes they're similar... I guess you could call them each other's main competitors :O?

Yeah, they're basically the same thing.. Cold Stone's hella popular here, but I go to Marble Slab now because I know someone who works there and can make me free stuff :p
