If you could have a pet dinosaur what would it be?

I would probably want to have a Raptor or something similar to the Raptor.  They say that the Raptors were very smart creatures, and I think it would be rather interesting to have one and train one.
The once grove of splendor,
Aforetime crowned by lilac and lily,
Lay now forevermore slender;
And all winds that liven
Silhouette a lone existence;
A leafless oak grasping at eternity.

Dude, a raptor is a bird!

And if you mean Velociraptor, keep in mind that Jurassic Park doesn't portray them accurately. Although you might be better off having a dumb turkey-sized dinosaur anyways.

My favorite dinosaur is the Ankylosaurus. I don't know why. But if I had one, I'm not sure where I'd keep him. But I'd definitely ride him. It'd be like riding a tank!

Yes, I meant Velociraptor (I didn't know how to spell it so I just put Raptor for short)! :P

I think they look badass, and if you can ride it like you can in WoW that would be amazing.  They are so sexy.

Velociraptors were 18 inches tall! You don't ride turkey-sized animals, that's just craziness!

Are you sure?  I am not referencing Jurassic Park, but with every other show that is about dinosaurs (on Animal Planet) they always portray the raptors as a little larger.  Atleast 6' tall.  Am I talking about a different dino?

This is a velociraptor, assuming Wikipedia allows image linking:

I remember seeing a fossil of one at a museum and being confused. The ones in jurassic part were apparently modeled after the Deinonychus. But even that one's pretty small, so I don't know.

<edit> some more info:
Quote[Deinonychus] was [used in the movie] because Gregory S. Paul, in his book Predatory Dinosaurs of the World, concluded that Deinonychus was a species of Velociraptor and rechristened the species Velociraptor antirrhopus, a theory that has since been largely rejected.

If you read the xkcd blog, one of the somewhat recent entries actually says this:

By the way, as in all my comics, you can just read 'velociraptor' as referring not to the beagle-sized dinosaur, but rather as a generic term for whichever dromeosaurid most closely resembles the Jurassic Park animals.  That is, something between a deinonychus and a utahraptor.
:)

The utahraptor is a bit bigger. 2 meters tall, 6 meters long. So the description from xkcd sounds pretty accurate

Either a tricerotops (sp?) because it'd be cool to ride, or a long-neck because it can double as a battering ram.

You might be right about that, Joe.
