[13:42:03]<@TehUser> I wasn't asking for wang pictures, I was looking at them.

There's a car driving around in my neighborhood in a very sketchy manner. It keeps driving forward, backing up, turning around, and the guy stops and takes pictures out the window every few minutes. It looks completely random. Creepy.

So I need to write a letter to my grandparents asking for a donation for my lacrosse team, but I'm not sure how to make it professional yet personal at the same time. I'm afraid if I make it too formal they'll take it the wrong way. Any ideas on a good balance?

Why does it have to be professional?  I'd just say that you're trying to raise money for your lacrosse team and whatever they can spare would be more than welcome.
errr... something like that...

word...drop the professionalism when writing your grandparents...now maybe businesses in town that you personally know personal/formal combo might be good.

Agreed with the above.

I've got to stop having great days at work, or I'll become a true workaholic. I'm sort of inhibited by my 26-hours a week max, but hell, it's one fun job!
I'd personally do as Joe suggests

You might be right about that, Joe.

You could explain the situation to them in your letter. However, as you seem to dislike the idea of making it personal, feel free to make it a formal letter. I'm sure your grandparents won't mind you pretending you don't know them in a letter.  :-\

I was just asking for ideas on how to balance between the two, but I think I know how I'm going to do it.
