Looks like he has more legitimate complaints this time, though, right?

Not really, I would think.

His term was up, he wasn't reappointed, whatever.

I guess the problem arises with it being a government that didnt reappoint.  Working for the govt it's pretty much assumed that you can fuck up pretty bad and keep your job, it's not like the real world.  Two of our professors didnt get their tenure renewed (or whatever) now they're all up in arms ::).  Who gives a shit, they teach vocational stuff at a university ... they should be teaching at the community college (it's all apart of nursing stuff).

govt firing = you probably have to kill someone to get fired
real world firing = you can be canned for whatever reason (except race, sex, being pregnant and probably a few other reasons)

There's no rule that says as a gov't employee you can fuck shit up and keep your job.

I shudder to think that you'll get into law school.
I have a programming folder, and I have nothing of value there

Running with Code has a new home!

Our species really annoys me.

Your government might be different, but I work for government and I know that's not true.

It's an extreme exaggeration, but it is harder to get fired from a govt job than a private one.

There's a difference between being fired, and just not be reappointed.  You can't always expect to be reappointed for a competitive job with limited spaces.  I think that the mans protest is unreasonable.  :\
And like a fool I believed myself, and thought I was somebody else...

It also depends on politics. One of my friends dad is one of President Bush's advisers, but most likely he'll lose his appointment after this election (if a democrat wins).
