Simon Tatham's Portable Puzzle Collection
« on: June 25, 2008, 08:04:22 pm »
Simon Tatham's Portable Puzzle Collection is a great little game pack for Linux etc. that I just love.

My proudest moment was beating "untangle" with 100 points:

Start ==> End

Took me about 2 hours, and felt pretty good! :)

Well, I've fallen in love with the Bridges game.

Here's some of the "harder" games I've done (Harder as it goes down), with the solution as an image, and a text file with the games import information.  The even harder ones have a _h in them, which means you can create up to four bridges in one direction instead of the normal two.  :)

Bridges is easily my favorite. Blaze, there's no reason to post hte solution; the game will solve it for you - though there's no need, since every possible puzzle is either deterministic or has multiple solutions.

10x10m4:6c4g3d7a3a7aAb3h2c2a4h8bDaAy2a7a7d7c6b6a5 was fun; that's the first one where I came close to not solving it in under 60 seconds :)

bridges would make an awesome iphone app
One must ask oneself: "do I will trolling to become a universal law?" And then when one realizes "yes, I do will it to be such," one feels completely justified.

Try this one (bridges):
10x10m4:4a7b3k3a6c1a2f7f8c4a9b4g6b7j4b3b4a1c3bAa5a36e6a2a

It's quite excellent.

Eh?  It's working now, but earlier it said "Applet PuzzleApplet started" at the bottom (does now), but it just showed a gray box.  Whatever

[edit]
Hm, it's only working for some of them (so far it works for Bridge and Cube), but not others (like 15 and Dominoes).

Download the executable versions.  I find them a lot easier to play with.  :)
