Does Towelie exist?
« on: February 09, 2010, 11:38:18 pm »
So, Sidoh has tried to meet Towelie several times. Every time, he supposedly "just missed him".

I tried to meet towelie this weekend, but because of snow, we "couldn't do it".

I'm starting to suspect he doesn't exist. It's all too convenient, you know?

And therefore, by extension, Newby, Quik, Ergot, etc. don't exist either. Bah!

You were trying to do it with Towelie?
I have a programming folder, and I have nothing of value there

Running with Code has a new home!

Our species really annoys me.

Wow.  This is an elaborate conspiracy.  I am skeptical of this "towelie" character's existence as much as the next guy, but I have vivid memories involving eating delicious pho with Ergot and Quik.  Frightening.

So wait.... you've met Ergot/Quik, who've indirectly (or directly?) met Towelie? Is there a complete knows-him chain? That could change everything! :-o

I think it means you must exist (by the transitory property)!

Me -> Sidoh -> Quik -> You, where "->" is defined as "has confirmed the existence of"

Perhaps Towelie is a faux personality created by Quik? Has anyone seen them in the same place at the same time?

I've chilled with Quik and Newby at the same time. I think leetmuffin might have been there too. But don't worry, it wasn't really me. I'm a myth.

I was going to call your cell but the forum was down and I didn't record it in advance :(.

Bah, yeah... it sucked that the weekend you were in the DC area it got hit with the most snow since 1922, especially since we had planned on meeting up weeks in advance.  I'm farther south of DC, and still got around 18 inches... even if I had attempted to drive on Saturday or Sunday and avoided getting stuck in traffic or falling prey to the hazardous road conditions, nothing  in the DC and Annapolis area would have been open anyways.  Also, public transportation was pretty much useless.

Hopefully if you are in the area again sometime, the weather conditions will be nicer.

I'm going to meet up with Towelie sometime before his semester ends, and get proof of his existence :P.

I hope to do the same con next year, Feb of 2011. We'll see what the weather's like and if you guys are even still there by then. :)

I'm also planning on going to Defcon during the last weekend of July. Everybody should come!

I'd personally do as Joe suggests

You might be right about that, Joe.

Yeah, I live on the outskirts of DC ( Andrews AFB, MD ) and this snow was crazy.  I left for VA the Friday before the original snowfall, got back home Sunday night and had ~2ft of snow in my driveway that I had to shovel out before I could pull my truck in :(
