Facebook killed the radio star. And by radio star, I mean the premise of distributed forums around the internet. And that got got by Instagram/SnapChat. And that got got by TikTok. Where the fuck is the internet we once knew?

lolz. I think I got into UCD based on taking straight AP/honors. I had a 3.0 and the kids here usually had close to a 4.0. But hey, maybe 99% percentile on the ACT and strong test scores / extracurriculars helped. :P

Anyway, apparently SJA doesn't find the matter of my "plagiarism" worth investigating, so I am stuck with an A-. I don't know who the "third person" I worked with is, but I technically *didn't* work with the second person (although by definition I could have) either, so rather than risk getting caught lying, I'll just cut my losses and take the A-. And never help anyone again. :O

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

Half a point?  As in 3.0 => 3.5?  Jesus, that's completely ridiculous.  What made that big of a difference?

Yes. I guess they didn't correctly calculate my senior year grades or maybe AP weight? I don't have a copy of my old transcript to compare it to.

Heh, that sucks.

Although I was under the impression that universities don't really look at weighted GPAs.  This is something I've heard pretty frequently, anyway.

The weight wouldn't have made too much of a difference, it would be like half a point at max.

Technically they don't, but they're going to notice if someone is taking straight AP/IB classes instead of regular or even Honors..
I swear I've heard this conversation before.

haha, I'm almost sure I've had it somewhere else on this boards.

I hear it every fucking day at my school, so I forget  :-\. Speaking of which, today being April 1st, it's going to be college talk for the next two weeks. :'(

So I emailed the chair of graduate admissions and requested information on the status of my application, as well as explained my situation.  It seems that I'm currently on the top of the waiting list for an opening.  While there's the probability that an opening may become available, if one doesn't open up by Monday, I will accept the job offer.  At least it's comforting to know that I haven't been completely rejected.  I made it to the top of their waiting list :P.

#1 on the waiting list? As in, if 1 person decides not to go, you are accepted?

That seems pretty much like guaranteed acceptance. If you would have gone had you been straight out "accepted", I'd wait this out.  You could e-mail back to ask about your probability of being accepted.  If you are truly at the top, they'd say it is pretty damn high.
