Aye, being the jew that I am, $300 is exactly the reason why my whole day would have been completely from that alone :P.

I srsly hated yesterday.  Nothing worked in my favor.

Finals done.  Headed back to New Mexico tomorrow afternoon, and stop at a friend's for a few days of drinking.  Then I'll head home on Sunday or so.  I don't know that I'm really all that psyched to go home to my family.  I love them and all, but I guess there are chores waiting for me.  I've got chores and shit I can do in Lubbock, I don't want to do chores in NM and then get back and have more to do in LBK (cleaning mostly).

Phew, thank God the Managed Extensibility Framework (MEF) is compatible and available for .NET 3.5 even though it is not shipped as a part of the framework like .NET 4.0.  It's going to save me so much time and give me a much more elegant and robust solution to this plugin system I have to design.

Has anyone here published anything? A professor of mine suggested that my final paper is of almost-publishable caliber, and I'd like to work on it more to make it worthy of more than just a final assignment. I'm just wondering of the process behind that.

Publish where?  In a journal?

Depends on your field of study, where you're looking to publish, and what you actually wrote about. It also costs money to publish in a journal.

What's the paper on?  I don't think the process is that difficult.  You make sure the paper is in the format that the journal wants, and you hand it over?

I've not done it myself, but if you're really dying to know answers, I have lots of friends that have published papers.  I could ask them for you.

The MEF is stupid and designing your own is easy.

It's an economics paper. From what Google has returned, it's more or less as deadly said. Write it in the proper format, let the peers review it, and wait their decision. I guess the economics department will have more info on which journals I should specifically submit to.

What's the paper on?  Sounds interesting!

Did you already graduate?  Are you a grad student?  Having published work would make getting into grad school cake. :)

Not yet, I still have one more semester of undergrad left. This paper is on best-practices for executive compensation. I'm also working on some other things which may be publishable, and that would be awesome if they helped me with grad school admissions.
