Work driving, work, drive more, drive more, then work, got into woodworking enough to convert a shop and I'm currently making custom tabletop game tables (early development for the future man cave).  Moved over to Pathfinder system, love every minute of it. I still manage to sling dice a couple times a month which is all my schedule allows me for. I also own a Corgi now. So I guess things are going pretty well. Glad to still see familiar faces around here.

Wow, I'm surprised!  I didn't think you would leave Canada, or work at a huge monopoly corporation. It's probably a nice place to work though.

I also own a Corgi now.

Corgis are the best.  I have a 1.5 y/o corgi.  My only pet peeve is the shedding.

how is that techoligarchy life? do the regular folks hate you?

I keep reading articles in NYT, LATimes, CNN, etc that all explain how tech employees are ruining everything for the normal folks.

Explain?

Gentrification, rising housing costs, tech workers causing ordinary people to be evicted, blahblahblah.

People in San Francisco and Oakland are pissed off at tech workers, and have been protesting and stuff. They call tech companies worthless, but they use twitter to organize, and google maps for visualizations, and have @gmail.com email addresses on their signs. Clearly, tech companies are helpful! :)

I'm in med school (about to start second semester), and recently got engaged. On the negative, Monday's high is 15 below 0, Fahrenheit.

I have friends that went through that fun storm. Not for me. That said, today's high was 65 in my town. I'm not so fond of winter ending/spring beginning before the middle of January.

well, I'm now VP of the local Chamber of Commerce.

my ascent to the upper echelon of Deming, NM politics will be swift. Our state sen retires soon (likely, cause he is old as dirt). I need to meet with him some day and just chill. For a (D), he makes a lot of D.C. (R)s looks like hippie communist bitches. That said, he has the respect to command reasonableness instead caving to teacher unions and oil companies. I'm kind of considering how I want to run in local elections. I'm an R, but I dont agree with all the platform. I'd be a D, but I dont agree with all the platform. Poltics...pfft.

And this is the inherent problem with our polarized political environment. Without being an R or D you won't get second glance by most voters in most districts. And yet, if you are one and "cave" to the opposing viewpoint if you agree with it, you're going to be tough to recommend on the same platform.

Happy to see the forum has yet to vanish (kudos iago). This community has come up for me a few times in conversation with people I'm close to, and I generally refer to it as a "modern day gentleman's club of intellectuals." Basically calling all you dudes gentlemen and scholars, so cheers to being awesome. :)

on-topic: same ol' shit for me, just a pube more grand. Living up in North Hollywood now, no roommate. Still hitting Europe yearly with the band, expanding out into Finland and Sweden. I budgeted and produced a new music video with this super talented 19 year old director from Germany. Been jamming with many talented musicians, one being the lead guitarist from CKY - some really cool shit coming out of that. It ain't easy, but I'm thrilled with how I spend my time, and I've got solid momentum going for the bigger and better.

craz3d, politics suck.  It's all about R vs D now instead of doing what's best for the people you represent.  Fucking politics

Armin, congrats on your life.  Sweden is awesome.

It's not going anywhere. I even recently bought a SSL key and made everything encrypted! :)
