You are all too young. Why are you so young?

California has some of the most restrictive laws for new drivers, and even I've got my license already. You all are too young.

It's 16 and 3 months here for our paper one, 16 and 6 months for the plastic one.

I want a car, why must they be so expensive?!

Really? I know a girl (just turned 14 a few months ago), and has been driving with her mom in the passenger since 13, highly doubted that's legal. Yet she's never been pulled over, explain please. :(

Back to what I was saying though, Joe, you can't drive alone till you're 17 I beleive, why even care about a car now?

If she is breaking the rules of the road, the police officers have no reason to pull her over. (Her mom would get in a lot of trouble if she did get pulled over though.)

I think what trust is trying to say in his response is that:

In California, she needs to be doing something wrong (speeding, not wearing seat belt, etc) to get pulled over. The police cannot profile people by age and pull them over because they "think they look too young." However, the license time/age requirements in CA are some of the most strict in the country. You all have it easy, but don't have you license, how come I do? You must be young.

Do you have a car?

Will get getting my own very shortly. I had my own, but got rid of it at end of summer. Right now I'm driving an old Jeep Grand Cherokee that gets horrible gas milage.

Do they? The one that looks like the original Cherokee or one of the more rounded ones? I was considering getting a Cherokee or Grand Cherokee, but if it's gonna rape me on gas, no thanks.

It's actually pretty old.1999 I think. Looks like this:

Doesn't have those headlights. Cost $50 to fill up PART of the tank.

Wow that sucks, I don't think I'll be able to afford to pay more than about $20 or $25 a week.

What are the restrictions in California?

Here in Oregon they have a "Graduated license" You can't have any other teens in the car 'til 6 monthes after you've had your license unless they're related to you, after six monthes only 6 other teens; You can't be out from 12am to 5am 'til you're 18 (unless you're going to or from work or school)

The only reasons why I know this is they handed out the cards when I got my license.

Oh, P.S. I've been driving alone since I was 14. I got pulled over once at that age for driving to slow at 3 in the morning to close to a frat party. (They thought I was drunk since I was driving slow near a lot of drunk people.)
