<3 Newby++
« on: November 01, 2005, 07:40:04 pm »
I was actually on AIM for awhile on Saturday night, and got some advice from Newby:

Quote
(01:01:59) iago: And I realized I fucked up something really simple on my last homework
(01:02:02) iago: But there is a question there
(01:02:12) iago: I got a constant wrong, which will cause the program to not run
(01:02:26) iago: But I don't think the prof is going to test run the program, so he probably won't notice
(01:02:31) James: Haha.
(01:02:31) iago: But if he does, then he'll know the program doesn't work
(01:02:41) iago: So the question is, do I email him, tell him what I did, and risk alerting him that I screwed up?
(01:02:49) James: Oh.
(01:02:52) James: Well, e-mail him!
(01:02:58) iago: :-/
(01:03:00) James: It's being honest.
(01:03:00) James: :/
(01:03:07) iago: Haha, honesty sucks if I lose marks
(01:03:09) James: Haha.
(01:03:13) James: It's one assignment.
(01:03:17) James: It won't brutally rape you.
(01:03:20) James: Plus, if he tests it, you're fucked.
(01:03:28) iago: Haha yeah
[.....]
(01:07:53) iago: I just emailed teacher
(01:07:57) iago: If he kills me, you're dead :D
(01:07:58) James: Haha!
(01:08:00) James: :D

Well, I got it back today.  On it, it said "Unless I missed something (it's late), TIMER_START is too big".  He was going to take off a couple marks for it.  Then it was crossed out, and I got the marks back.

To summarize, he (Newby) saved my ass :)

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

I don't know why you wouldn't tell him, thats what happens in my school other then on tests.
And like a fool I believed myself, and thought I was somebody else...

Because I wouldn't want him to notice that I'd screwed up, which I didn't think he would.  However, he did.

My teachers are the exact opposite.  In fact, just last week I told my calc teacher I didn't understand jack on the test (I missed some class and only got like... the last bit of the lessons), and he was like "OK, I'll just not average it in then".  God I love my school.

My teachers would give me a speech about how I suck at life then make me take the test. I should move to canada.
One must ask oneself: "do I will trolling to become a universal law?" And then when one realizes "yes, I do will it to be such," one feels completely justified.

Warrior, it's universal for you: everyone knows you suck at life.
I have a programming folder, and I have nothing of value there

Running with Code has a new home!

Our species really annoys me.

I'd personally do as Joe suggests

You might be right about that, Joe.
