You're 17 though, which in our society is reguarded as neither minor nor adult, kind of. I'm not a lawyer, but if you're over 16 (or, the age of consent in your state), you're allowed to date and "touch" (hug, kiss, sex, etc) people who are also above that age. If you're under that age, anything you do is statitory rape, usually put on the guy. I'm pretty positive that if I so much as hugged a girl right now it'd technically be rape if she wasn't over 16, and if she was, she'd be raping me. (Please, no jokes about that).
